High-sensitivity atomic magnetometers are detectors of the low magnetic field by measuring Larmor progression of optically pumped alkali-metal atomic vapor. The advantage of them in comparison with superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID) is its high sensitivity at room temperature. Collectively, Alkali-metal atomic magnetometers have the features of high-sensitivity, low cost and miniaturizability.
